Strike Lake is located in Manning Provincial Park. The Strike Lake campground sits beyond the end of the lake. The campground has a pit toilet, bear cache, fire pits, and several sites. Recently, there are new wooden tent platforms for each site. The campground is nestled in a shaded area among the trees. While water is readily available in the early season, it dries out by the fall. On our trip, we walked back to Strike Lake to get water.

The Hike
Beginning at Birch Bay Parking area nearby Lightning Lakes, the trail to Strike Lake campground follows alongside the lake shore of lightning lakes then flash lake. The trail is relatively flat and approximately 6km. There are plenty of areas to access the lake along the way. This is a great trail for people new to backpacking or hiking.

We hiked the trail in October and there weren't any bugs. The fall colours are beautiful.

Along the way, there were some open meadow/marsh. There were beaver lodges and dams too.

The wooden tent platforms were under construction. We setup camp nearby.

There is plenty of area to sit.

Final Thoughts
Strike Lake is the perfect place to introduce people to hiking and backpacking. The trail is flat and easy to follow. Water is readily accessible. The area offers plenty of activities. You can fish along the shoreline; there are many fish. Beyond Strike Lake, you can hike to Thunder Lake. At the time of our trip, the trail to Thunder Lake had been brushed so it was very easy to hike. To reduce the likelihood of bugs, I would camp at Strike Lake in the fall (e.g., October).
