Fatdog 120 is an ultramarathon that traverses through Manning Park in British Columbia. There are four different distances (e.g., 120 miles, 100km, 50 miles and 40 miles). On this day, I ran the 100km distance. The 100km course gains 4400 metres of elevation.

The Route
The course follows along Cayuse flats, Hope Pass trail, Heather trail, Blackwell road, Little Muddy trail, Strawberry Flats, Lightning lakes trail, and Skyline 1 trail. It's a very scenic course.

The Race
Unfortunately, I started the race with a cold/flu (e.g., nausea, runny nose, headache and so forth). The first 30km went fairly well except for a wildly fluctuating heart rate. For the remaining 70km, I had to manage nausea by keeping my heart rate in zone 1. While I expected to finish around 16 to 17 hours, I finished in 20ish hours. It was an enjoyable formative experience. I met many wonderful people along the way. I am very grateful for the support of volunteers, friends and family at the aid stations. Thank you!
