The Frosty Mountain Ultra is an event in Manning Provincial Park. There are three distances (i.e., 13km, 27km and 50km). The race route is scenic with abundant beautiful views.

The Route - Frosty Mountain Ultra
Beginning at the Lightning Lakes day use area, the route ascends partway up Windy Joe Peak then traverses over the shoulder of Frosty Mountain. From there, the route descends back to the Lightning Lakes area. Going around Lightning Lake, the route ascends Skyline 1 trail looping back to the start in the Lightning Lakes day use area.
The Race
It was a beautiful late summer day. After light rain the night before, it was somewhat crisp. I ran the 50km route. I started slow with the goal to have an enjoyable run. Along the course, I had many uplifting conversations with fellow runners. Running events bring together so many people. The energy is fantastic. People find their way to ultra distance running in many different ways. I finished in a little over 8 hours. I felt like I wanted to keep going. For anyone looking for a fun ultra distance event, I highly recommend it!
