Twin Lakes is nestled below Boulder Mountain and Lakeview Mountain in the Southern Monashee Mountains.

The Hike
To reach the trail-head for Twin Lakes, you'll need to drive toward Cherryville onward to the North Fork Forest Service Road. This is a popular hiking area; the parking lot is often busy. From the parking lot, the trail ascends through forest into sub-alpine meadows to the lake.

From the lake, you can hike toward Boulder Mountain by traversing to the left side of the lake. Follow a well-established trail to the boulder field below Boulder Mountain.

Looking up at the boulder-field, you have a few options to reach the top. You can traverse to the right across the boulder-field to a gully. Follow this gully to the ridge, turn left, hike up the ridge to the top. Alternatively , you can traverse to the left across the boulder-field. Once you reach the slabs of rock, you can scramble class 3 to the top. From Boulder Mountain, you can return to below the boulder-field.

From below the boulder-field on Boulder Mountain, Lakeview Mountain is a simple hike to the top. Simply follow the trail along the obvious ridge in the above photo. From the summit of Lakeview Mountain, you can descend the ridge on the left side of this photo to reconnect to the trail that leads to the parking lot.
Final Thoughts
Twin Lakes is a beautiful with plenty of areas to explore. The hike or scramble to the top of Boulder Mountain provides beautiful views of the mountains beyond (see photo below). For the adventurous, you can continue to Mount Severide. See trip report for the Mark Berger Traverse.
