Twin Lakes

Twin Lakes are nestled below Boulder Mountain in the Pinnacle Hiking Area in the Monashee Mountains. Twin Lakes are a popular spot for hikers and backpackers who want to enjoy the alpine wilderness.

The Hike

To reach Twin Lakes, drive toward Cherryville, passing Frank's Store and Sugar Lake road. Continue along Highway 6 until you reach North Fork road. Continue along North Fork road then make a left turn onto North Fork Forest Service road. Continue along the road following signs for Twin Lakes. The signs are sparsely placed along the forest service road. Eventually, you'll reach the parking area for Twin Lakes.

From the parking lot, the trail climbs through pine forest breaking into alpine meadows.

The well worn trail is easy to follow.

As you hike the trail, you'll emerge into the alpine.

Twin Lakes are a beautiful destination with plenty to explore.

There are relatively flat spots for tents well protected from the wind.

From Twin Lakes, it is an enjoyable hike to the top of Boulder Mountain for panoramic views of the area.

Final Thoughts

Twin Lakes is the perfect destination for young families to enjoy the world of backpacking. With plenty of optional adventures beyond the lakes, there is something for everyone. I highly recommend it for an overnight hike.
