The trail from Nissen Bight to the parking lot and San Joseph Bay is the central path through the park. The trail passes by Fisherman River Campsite and Eric Lake Campsite. Fisherman River Campsite is peaceful; however, there are plenty of mosquitos at Eric Lake.

Nissen Bight to San Joseph Bay
There were many seagulls gathered on the beach in the morning.

For those travelling from west to east, this sign marks the start of the North Coast Trail.

Enjoyable walking on the trail.

The forest campsite nearby the beach was pleasant.

Sea stacks...

Ice cream on the ferry ride home.

Final Thoughts
San Joseph Bay is beautiful. The beach is expansive with interesting sea stacks and other rock formations. There are many different options for campsites. Water is difficult to access during high tide. However, there is a trail in the forest. It was an enjoyable addition to our North Coast Trail itinerary.
